Method 1, no sound from the speaker but the headphones work
I’ve tried a lot of solutions on the internet, but what worked for me is:
Open Device Manager
Right-click on the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC or sound card driver.
Remove it.
Scan for hardware changes.
When you install a sound card in your system, you have it!
Method 2: no sound from the speaker but the headphones work
Follow the same steps to check if the Windows audio service is running.
Click Start and type Services.msc in the search option.
Search for the Windows Audio service.
Right-click the service and click Start (if it is not started).
Click Apply and OK to save your changes.
Method 3: no sound from the speaker but the headphones work
To automatically update the audio driver
Type Device Manager in the search box on the taskbar, then select from the results.
Select the arrow next to Sound, Video and Game Controllers to expand it.
Right-click a sound card or a list of audio devices such as headphones or speakers, select Update Driver, then select Automatically search for updated driver software. Follow the instructions to complete the update.
Method 4: no sound from the speaker but the headphones work
If you have audio issues after installing the update
If your audio worked before running Windows Update, but now it doesn’t, try rolling back your audio driver
To roll back the audio driver
Type Device Manager in the search box on the taskbar, then select from the results.
Select the arrow next to Sound, Video and Game Controllers to expand it.
Right-click on the list of sound cards or audio devices, then select Properties.
Select the Driver tab, then select Roll Back Driver.
Read and follow the instructions and select Yes to roll back the audio driver.
Method 5. Try to reboot your device in safe mode.
Press the Windows logo key + R.
Type msconfig in the Open box and then select OK.
Select the Boot tab.
Under Boot options, clear the Safe boot checkbox.
Restart your pc.
Exit to safe mode.
Press the Windows logo key + R.
Type msconfig in the Open box and then select OK.
Select the Boot tab.
Under Boot options, clear the Safe boot uncheckbox.
Restart your pc.
I hope this helps. Thankyou! 🙂

It looks like there may be some corruption or missing system files. There are a few options for us to try solving this:
Important note: Ensure that you have one or more backups of all of your personal files before continuing. These are three options that you can choose. Options 1 and 2 are most likely to resolve issues as they remove the applications installed on your machine. If you are concerned with having to reinstall your applications, choose option 3.
1. Reset this PC from Windows Settings
A. Start -> Settings -> Update & Security -> Recovery -> Reset this PC -> Get Started
There will be two options, one that removes apps, and one that removes apps and files
2. Reset this PC from Windows Recovery Environment
A. Start -> Power -> (Hold Shift)+Restart
B. After the machine reboots into the Recovery Environment, Select Troubleshoot -> Reset this PC
There will be two options, one that removes apps, and one that removes apps and files.
3. Reinstall the latest Feature Update (in-place installation/upgrade)
A. Download the Media Creation Tool at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209
I. Open the tool and Click Yes to allow it to make changes to the computer.
II. Accept the license terms.
III. Select radio button for Upgrade this PC now, then select Next.
IV. Ensure that Keep personal files and apps is selected, then select Install.
Any of these three processes will take some time. Depending on the machine specifications, it could be multiple hours. If you are still experiencing issues after the process completes, please feel free to reach back out.
