Last season, the 2023-24 Knicks had their most impactful run in decades, possibly their best since 2000. They won 50 games, had an All-NBA star in Jalen Brunson, discovered some hidden talent on the bench, and pulled off a smart mid-season trade for OG Anunoby. This season reignited the passion of their long-suffering fan base and made the Knicks look like true contenders again.
Brunson was outstanding, leading a group with a strong Villanova connection to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, where they lost a tough Game 7 at home to the Indiana Pacers. The only real setback was Julius Randle’s season-ending shoulder injury in late January. Despite that, Coach Tom Thibodeau’s squad planted the seeds of hope at Madison Square Garden, where Knicks basketball is alive and thriving again.
